QNAP New Digital Signage Player iS-2840 Supports 4K High Resolution

Taipei, Taiwan, March 14, 2013 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. released the new Digital Signage Player model, iS-2840, supporting 3840 x 2160 high resolution videos to enhance video wall display quality. The iS-2840 supports 4K high resolution to deliver videos with a clear, sharp image.

The iS-2840 offers four outputs of DisplayPort, allowing users to combine four TV screens as one big 4K video wall and supporting all-vertical or all-horizontal arrangements. The new technique of bezel compensation maintains the video displayed in proportion, even if the distance between the screens is set further apart. Moreover, each screen can show its distinct content respectively. This new feature provides more flexibility for the display of high definition videos and the layout of screens. On the other hand, featuring the powerful iSignager software, the iS-2840 enables users to edit 2 x 2 display content remotely.

“Although 4K resolution TV is not popularized in home environments yet, businesses users are starting to utilize 4K high resolution videos on digital signage systems," said Sam Wang, product manager of QNAP. “The big TV wall with 3840 x 2160 resolution allows clear video display in long-distance playback applications. For example, in spacious environments crowded with people, iS-2840 Digital Signage Player can demonstrate high resolution content to bring forth fantastic and stunning visual expression,” added Wang.
