Why are some permission settings unavailable in File Station?

Scenario

When trying to configure shared folder permissions through File Station, some properties and permissions appear grayed-out, and you are unable to select the options.

Solution

This situation happens if the Advanced Folder Permissions setting is disabled. You can enable this setting with the following process:

Log in to the device with an administrator account.
Open Control Panel.
Go to Privilege > Shared Folders > Advanced Permissions.
Enable the Enable Advanced Folder Permissions option.
Click Apply.
