Why can’t I import or schedule imports from other PACS servers after testing the connection when adding or editing an AE?

Last modified date: 2022-10-18

To import DICOM images, a connection must be established between at least two PACS servers: the PACS server that files are being imported to, and the PACS server that files are being imported from. To connect two PACS servers, you must add each PACS server as an application entity (AE) on the other’s system.

For example:

MediQPACS is installed on NAS 1 and ORTHANC is installed on NAS 2. To connect these two PACS servers, NAS 1 must add NAS 2 as an AE, and NAS 2 must add NAS 1 as an AE.

Note: When adding an AE, ensure that the connection details (IP address, port number, etc.) are correct for the corresponding PACS server so that files will be imported successfully.

This process must be followed when importing DICOM images from other PACS servers on your network that are not NAS-based.
