How to restrict users access in the sub-folders of NAS Shared Folder?

  1. Enable Advanced Folder Permissions

    1. Go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders > Advanced permissions tab

    2. Enable the “Enable Advanced Folder Permissions

    3. Click Apply

  

  1. Edit Shared Folder properties

    1. Go to Shared Folder tab

    2. Select the Shared folder where the sub folders are located

    3. Click the Edit Properties button

    4. Enable both ABSE and ABE feature of the shared folder

    5. Click OK button to apply

 

  1. Modify user permissions in the Sub Folders

    1. Select the Shared Folder where the sub folder is located

    2. Click the Edit Shared Folder Permission

    3. Expand the shared folder in the left pane

    4. Select the Sub Folder you want to restrict the user

    5. Remove the user from the list in the right plane that not needed a permission, then click Remove 

    6. Or select the limited permission of the user by selecting the access privilege to the user like “Read Only”, Read/Write”, or “Deny Access
