How to Configure User Permission Settings of Shared Folders When a Conflict Occurs in QuTS hero

Overview

QuTS hero allows users to configure different user permissions of shared folder and subfolders.

Note:

This feature only applies to QuTS hero models running firmware version h4.5.3 v2 and later.

Configuring Shared Folders to Read/Write and Subfolders to Read Only

  1. Go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders > Shared Folder.
  2. Click .

    The Edit Shared Folder Permission window appears.

  3. Specify a shared folder.
  4. Click Individual permissions.
  5. Under Protocol Permissions, select Read/Write permission for specific users.
  6. Under ACL, click to delete the user group Everyone.
  7. Click Apply.
  8. Select a shared folder, and change permission style to Windows Special Permissions.
  9. Click and select the following:
    • Traverse folder / execute file

    • List Folder / read data

    • Read attributes

    • Read extended attributes

    • Create files / write data

    • Create folder / append data

    • Write attributes

    • Write extended attributes

    • Delete (files only)

    • Read permission

  10. Click OK.
  11. Specify a subfolder.
  12. Click Add.

    The Add Users window appears.

  13. Select the following:
    • Create files / write data

    • Create folder / append data

    • Write attributes

    • Write extended attributes

    • Delete (files only)

    • Read permission

  14. Click OK.

Configuring Shared Folders to Read Only and Subdfolders to Read/Write

  1. Go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders > Shared Folder.
  2. Click .

    The Edit Shared Folder Permission window appears.

  3. Specify a shared folder.
  4. Click Individual permissions.
  5. Under Protocol Permissions, select Read/Write permission for specific users.
  6. Under ACL, select Read Only permission for specific users.
  7. Under ACL, click to delete the user group Everyone.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Select a subfolder.
  10. Add the specified users and click Read/Write.
  11. Click Apply.
