Snapshots now supported by ARM-based NAS
Everybody needs Snapshots to better protect their digital assets. QNAP's high-end, SMB and entry-level NAS fully support snapshots, helping you safeguard your data without compromise. From QTS 4.3.4, selected QNAP ARM-based models will also support snapshots, providing users with a fast and easy data backup and recovery solution to ensure important data is protected from data loss and potential malware attacks.

Fast and Precise Data Backup
Block-based LUN are highly efficient and ideal for virtualization environments, allowing for easily sharing NAS storage space to other devices. QNAP block-based LUN Snapshots supports incremental backups by only copying changed data. Not only does it save storage space, but also provides faster snapshot backup and recovery, helping to reduce disaster recovery time.

Snapshot Features
-
Fast Data Snapshots
QNAP uses EXT4 self-developed technology, providing high-efficiency volume and block-based iSCSI LUN snapshots.
-
Volume and LUN Snapshots
ARM-based NAS supports up to 256 snapshots for both volume and LUN in total, and 64 per volume or LUN.
-
Snapshot Replica
Back up snapshots to remote NAS and each time only copy the changed data, providing double protection while also saving time and bandwidth.
-
Snapshot Reserve Space
QNAP’s unique "Snapshot Reserve Space" helps reserve dedicated space for snapshots to avoid running out of space.
-
Easy Snapshots Management
Take or recover snapshots from the QTS Storage Manager or also initiate Snapshot Manager in File Station for creating snapshots.
-
Self-help Snapshots Recovery
Windows and Mac users can check snapshots after linking the NAS folder to their computers and can directly recover files using snapshots without using the administrator account.
Note: The maximum number of snapshots depends on the NAS model and how much memory the NAS has installed. For more information, please refer to Volume & LUN Snapshots page.
The Wonder 4
NAS with Snapshots and 10GbE-ready Connectivity
10GbE connectivity is becoming a crucial requirement for modern data storage environments. QNAP offers multiple powerful-yet-economical ARM-based 10GbE NAS, allowing budget-conscious businesses to easily build 10GbE-ready storage while also protecting their data with snapshots.
