Qfile for iOS, Qsync Pro for iOS

Overview

Qfile and Qsync Pro can automatically upload data to your QNAP NAS without opening the application. This upload triggers when your device moves more than 500 meters, and requires some additional configuration. iOS automatically controls when to launch Qfile and Qsync Pro as background tasks. Currently, iOS only allows background tasks to run for a maximum of 30 seconds.

Procedure

  1. Allow location access on your iOS device.
    1. Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services.
    2. Tap Qfile or Qsync Pro.
    3. Tap Always.
  2. Qfile only: Enable Background Uploading.
  3. Optional: Enable Background App Refresh on your iOS device.
If the background task stops before the upload completes, you can use this process to extend the running time for specific background tasks.
    1. Go to Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
    2. Enable Background App Refresh.
    3. Enable Qfile or Qsync Pro.

Workaround

When transferring large amounts of data to your NAS, you may find that the app times out before the upload completes. As a temporary workaround, you can keep the app running in the foreground by disabling the Auto-Lock feature.

  1. Go to Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock.
  2. Tap Never.
  3. Launch Qfile or Qsync Proto start the file transfer tasks.
