QNAP Debuts the Renowned DeaDBeeF Music Player and More Apps for HD Station 2.0
Taipei, Taiwan, December 24, 2014 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. today upgraded its HybridDesk Station (HD Station) 2.0 app, revamping the user interface to a familiar tablet style, enhancing the security, and adding new apps including DeaDBeeF and Firefox. With QNAP’s exclusive QvPC Technology, the Turbo NAS can be used as a PC and run multiple applications on the HD Station by simply connecting an HDMI display and a keyboard and mouse.
The new tablet-style UI design of HD Station 2.0 provides users with a quick overview of available apps, allowing them to easily select the one they want to use. Users can also personalize their HD Station desktop with the 4 included wallpapers. To improve system security, administrators can now enable user authentication so only authorized users can access data stored on the Turbo NAS via HDMI monitor.
With the growing trend of “Software-defined everything” in today’s IT environment, QNAP has taken the lead in offering the exclusive QvPC Technology that consolidates a number of high-end technologies including Virtual Machine (VM) integration, multimedia transcoding, HDMI output, cloud integration and NAS connection technologies, and more. QvPC enables users to use the Turbo NAS as a PC by connecting to a HDMI monitor and operating the HD Station for multiple applications with various desktops: QVM Desk, Defense Desk and Local Display Desk, making the Turbo NAS a cost-efficient all-in-one NAS device.
