Details

You can configure the resolution settings to manage the scaling factor between your virtual machine's graphics output and your physical monitor's native resolution.

Workaround

If the QVM output is incompatible with your monitor's resolution, you can try the following workarounds.

HybridDesk Station Settings for QVM Resolution Expansion

  1. Open HybridDesk Station.
  2. Go to Settings > Display > Resolution.
  3. Match the VM resolution.
  4. Alternatively, match the aspect ration.
    Note
If the exact VM resolution is unavailable, choose a resolution in HybridDesk Station that shares the same aspect ratio as your VM. For example, both 1920x1080 and 1280x720 have a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Windows Guest Tools Installation for QVM Resolution Expansion

  1. Ensure your VM is running a Windows operating system.
  2. Locate and download the appropriate Windows SPICE guest tools installer from the official source.
  3. Within your Windows VM, run the downloaded installer to integrate the guest tools.
  4. A system restart might be necessary for the guest tools to take full effect.
  5. Once guest tools are integrated, more resolution options should become available within your Windows VM's display settings.
Note
Windows SPICE guest tools are generated by SPICE. Please follow the terms of use and legacy statement for SPICE.
