Why my media player can't see Media streaming add-on(DLNA) server?

Last modified date: 2022-06-24
Applied Products:
  • All NAS Series
  • All QTS Firmware Versions

There are a few reasons that may cause this behaviour:
1. Firstly, check that Media streaming add-on is enabled, and “DLNA Media server” is also enabled from Control panel > Applications > DLNA Media server.
2. Another reason is that the NAS and your Media player are not in the same local network. Some routers divided the wired and wireless connections in separate networks to improve the security. Ensure they are on the same subnet for the DLNA server to detect the devices.
3. Also check that “Multimedia Console” is enabled and media content has been added to the DLNA in Multimedia Console > Content Management.
