Details
A thumbnail of a photo or video is a file generated from the raw image or video file that is optimized for performance and space efficiency. Thumbnails are generated by Multimedia Console and used by QuMagie and other QNAP apps for various purposes, such as displaying the photo or video or as the source file for object and facial recognition tasks. Using thumbnails instead of raw files does not result in any loss of quality or data because thumbnails on QNAP operating systems are just images and photos that have been optimized for efficiency and space.
Because QuMagie uses thumbnails for object and facial recognition, you may see background tasks that use thumbnail files. Thumbnail files typically have the file suffix ".@__thumb".
