Important Notes

New Features

  • Added command “smbstatus -v” to the QES command line interface (CLI).
  • L2 ARC I/O alignment can be enabled to improve the performance of certain PCIe SSDs.
  • Added notifications for dual-path changes.
  • The Active Directory feature now supports organization units (OUs).
  • TES-x85U series NAS devices running QES now support installing QM2-4P-384 cards.

  • Added support for updating disk compatibility, by uploading a disk profile file in Storage Manager.
  • Inconsistent installed memory or CPU model on the storage controllers now triggers a storage controller takeover.

Enhancements

  • Optimized performance of all-flash storage pools on dual controller NAS models.
  • Predictive SMART migration can now be triggered by disk read/write errors.
  • The UI now shows the location of system drive bays if there are no system drives detected at QES Initialization > Quick Setup.
  • QES now blocks a firmware update when High Availability status is "Takeover", to avoid firmware inconsistencies between the - two controllers.
  • Added warning status to disk I/O history and status.
  • Upgraded SAMBA to version 4.7.
  • The storage pool management screen now shows how much pool space is being used by snapshots.
  • The NFS service supports users being in more than 16 groups.
  • SnapSync scheduling allows you to run a backup job every X hours.
  • You cannot edit SnapSync host information after creating a job that uses that host.
  • For increased security, the guest account is now disabled by default.
  • SMB 1 to SMB 3 are now supported. You can select the highest and lowest supported SMB versions, at Win/NFS > Microsoft Networking > Advanced Options.
  • To enhance system stability, Storage Manager now limits the maximum number of disks allowed in one RAID group when creating or expanding a storage pool. The maximum number of disks depends on the RAID type. RAID 0: not limited / RAID 1: 2 / RAID 5: 3~9 / RAID 6: 5~10 / RAID TP: 8~11 / Triple Mirror: 3 / RAID 10: 1 / RAID 50: 3~9 per subgroup / RAID 60: 5~10 per subgroup

Fixed Issues

  • If an interface is unable to get an IP address using DHCP, QES sets a default IP address.
  • Unable to retrieve storage information.
  • Total allocated storage pool space was incorrectly reported if the storage pool was offline.
  • The locate feature which blinks an HDD's LEDs did not work on EJ-1600 expansion units.
  • In certain conditions, the NAS maximum snapshot limit was inaccurate.
  • A domain user could not mount a SCB shared folder when SCA had taken over from SCB.
  • A folder mounted via SMB/CIFS using the admin user credentials would stay mounted after the admin user account was disabled.
  • Changed "REXP#1" to "Expansion Unit1" in the event logs.
  • Improved the SAMBA search model.
  • The system dashboard incorrectly displayed a warning status under certain conditions.
  • Several minor bug fixes.
