After importing a virtual machine, why do the controllers/video types of virtual machines change?

If the virtual machine was exported as .qvm file format, the controllers will be same as the original virtual machine. However, if the virtual machine was exported as .ova, .ovf (including being exported from other hypervisors such as VMware Workstation) the configurations after being imported will be set to default values for better compatibility. Please see the below table.
