How can I hide a Shared Folder on my NAS?

Solution

  1. Hide the folder in File Station.
    1. Sign in to the NAS.
    2. Go to Control Panel > Shared Folders
    3. Identify a shared folder and click Edit Shared Folder Permission.

      The Edit Shared Folder Permission window opens.
    4. Identify a specific user or group.
    5. Select the option in the Deny Access column.
    6. Click Add.
    7. Click Apply.
      The shared folder is hidden from the specific user or group. This also hides any content stored within the selected folder.
  2. Optional. Hide the folder from Windows Networks.
    1. Go to Control Panel > Shared Folders
    2. Identify a shared folder and click Edit Properties.

      The Edit Properties window opens.
    3. Enable the Hide network drive option.
    4. Click OK.
      The shared folder is hidden from Windows networks. Content can still be accessed if a direct path is used.
