What is the max file size of a single file I can save onto the QTS?

The file system used in QTS is ext4. The maximum file size of a single file goes with the ext4 limitation and is 16 TB.

If you would like to save a file beyond 16 TB onto the QTS, the workaround is

  1. Create the iSCSI target and iSCSI LUN in the NAS.
  2. Use the iSCSI initiator from Windows or macOS to connect with the ISCSI target.
  3. Format the iSCSI LUN to a file system that supports a larger file size.
  4. Copy the beyond-16-TB file to the iSCSI LUN disk.
