QES 2.1.1 build 20200303

2020-03-11

Important Notes

Enhancements

  • Modified the number of disks allowed in one RAID group when creating or expanding a storage pool, based on user feedback. New RAID group limits: RAID 0: Unlimited / RAID 1: 2 / RAID 5: 3–16 / RAID 6: 5–16 / RAID TP: 8–16 / Triple Mirror: 3 / RAID 10: 4–16 (creating), 2–16 (expanding) / RAID 50: 3–16 per subgroup / RAID 60: 5–16 per subgroup (Note: Increasing the number disks in a RAID group reduces its rebuild performance.)
  • Improved the UI of the Expand Storage Pool screen.
  • Optimized LUN creation. It is now possible to create a large number of LUNs at the same time.
  • Improved the File Station Background Task screen to show task progress as a percentage during file move and copy operations.
  • Optimized the RAID rebuilding process to prevent it failing if it encounters certain errors.
  • Added timestamp and timezone information to syslog messages.
  • To prevent deduplication from not functioning correctly, it is no longer possible to select a 4k block size when creating a shared folder or LUN in a legacy storage pool.

Fixed Issues

  • Under certain conditions, the NAS could not start up.
  • Under certain conditions, it was not possible to click Advanced Options at Control Panel > Network & File Services > Win/NFS > Microsoft Networking.
  • iSCSI targets could sometimes not be detected due to Malicious Driver Detection errors.
  • Under certain conditions, the default gateway would be cleared after configuring port trunking.
  • Several minor bug fixes.

Other Changes

  • For stability reasons, SSD cache (Cache Acceleration) can not be created using M.2 SSDs, QM2 cards, and PCIe NVMe SSDs on dual controller NAS devices (ES2486dc, ES1640dc v2, ES1686dc).
