Why is File Station unable to remotely mount folders on a Windows 7 Home PC using CIFS/SMB?

Home versions of Windows generally cannot be used as a file server without modification. To change system settings to allow remotely mounting folders, open the Registry Editor and change the following values:

Set "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Lanmanserver\Parameters\Size" to "3"

Set "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Memory Management\LargeSystemCache" to 1
