QNAP Announces Support for the New WD Red™ 3.5-inch 4 TB and 2.5-inch Hard Drives

Taipei, Taiwan, October 9, 2013 – QNAP® Systems, Inc. announced today that the Turbo NAS products now support the new WD Red™ line of SATA hard drives.
Specifically designed for NAS applications and featuring NASWare™ 2.0 and 3D Active Balance Plus technologies, WD Red hard drives provide enhanced reliability and drive performance for home and small office NAS applications.
“WD Red hard drives are designed for NAS systems with 1-5 drive bays,” said Andy Kuo, WD’s Taiwan Country Manager. “The drives are designed and extensively tested for compatibility in the unique 24x7 operating environment and demanding system requirements of home and small office NAS. Our exclusive NASware technology enables seamless integration, robust data protection and optimal performance for NAS and RAID environments.”
The new WD Red hard drives are available in both 2.5-inch and 3.5-inch form factors to provide density & capacity-optimized solutions, including:
- 3.5”: WD40EFRX (4TB)
- 2.5”: WD10JFCX (1TB), WD7500BFCX (750GB)
