How to use QNAP Qfinder Pro to expand the capacity or connect to your shared folders?
“Make your PC more flexible in use of volume”
Introduction
Many home and office users often feel headachy about how to expand the capacity or connect their PCs to the NAS storage. It’s pretty simple. After you install the Windows version of the QNAP Qfinder Pro, you can log into the NAS and do storage planning for the PC usage. Even a non-technical user can easily build up high-capacity network storage space. For example, after a user login the NAS by the QNAP Qfinder Pro, he or she can quickly create a network drive and rapidly upload a large number of his or her photos to the NAS, or connect a virtual disk (iSCSI connection) to the PC for the expansion of the storage space.
Install QNAP Qfinder Pro
Download the QNAP Qfinder Pro from the QNAP official website (www.qnap.com). Install the software on your PC.
Log into your NAS
Open the QNAP Qfinder Pro, and select your NAS from the list. Click the [Connect] tab on the top, and then under the drop-down menu, select [Storage Plug & Connect] to log into the NAS with the administrator’s username and password.
Map a Network Drive
Would you like to have a dedicated share to store and access your valuable data? Without needing to open the NAS admin page, you can easily create a NAS share and map it as a network drive for file sharing and storage. Click [Create a Network Drive] to create a NAS shared drive and access it instantly by double clicking the shortcut for the shared drive.
Create a Virtual Disk (iSCSI)
For someone who wants to build up an IP-SAN for a small office, Plug & Connect eliminates the complexity of iSCSI configuration. In just a few steps, you can easily create a fast and economical iSCSI storage. Click [Create a Virtual Disk] to create an iSCSI virtual disk and instantly expand the volume of the PC, as the created virtual disk will appear as another accessible storage disk for the PC.
