Why can’t I set the homes folder as a content source on the Multimedia Console for a smart album on QuMagie or Photo Station?

The homes folder is the parent folder of the home shared folder. In QuMagie and Photo Station, the home shared folder is the user’s Private Collection, where users only see their photos. Adding the homes folder as a content source displays everyone’s photos on one page, including photos from its child folders, defeating the purpose of the home shared folder.
If you wish for contents to be shared, they would need to be moved to publicly shared folders, where they are not catagorised as user's Private Collections.
