Details
This FAQ addresses default login credentials for QNAP network devices, including both QSW managed switches and QNAP routers.
Important
For enhanced security, QNAP recommends:
- Changing the default password during the initial setup process for routers.
- Setting a new password after logging in for the first time on switches.
- QNAP routers: All routers have a consistent default password across all QuRouter versions.
- The MAC address of the router omitting any punctuation and capitalizing any letters.
For example, if the MAC address is 00:0a:0b:0c:00:01, the default password is 000A0B0C0001. - You can find the device MAC address with Qfinder Pro or from a label on the device listed as "MAC".
- The MAC address of the router omitting any punctuation and capitalizing any letters.
- QNAP QSW managed switches: The default password for QSW managed switches is determined by two criteria:
- The version of QSS deployed on the switch
- QSW models (for switches running QSS Pro version 4.x and later)
