Can I downgrade VioStor NVR firmware from v5.1.x to v4.2.0?

The firmware of VioStor NVR can be downgraded, and this may be necessary as some older cameras can only function with VioStor NVR firmware v4.2.0.
- Go to https://www.qnap.com/en/download
- Select Legacy NVR as a Product Type.
- Select your Model from the list.
- Find QVR Firmware version 4.2.0 and click the link under the Download column.
- Log in to your VioStor NVR.
- Open the Control Panel and go to System Settings > Firmware Update.
- In the Firmware Update tab, click Browse and select the firmware file you just downloaded.
- Click Update System and follow the on-screen prompts.
Important
Downgrading firmware is generally not recommended as it may remove functionality and reintroduce security vulnerabilities. It may also cause data loss.
You should only downgrade firmware if absolutely necessary, and ensure that you take steps to back up your data before downgrading.
