No sounds are played or sound is disrupted over PCIe passthrough connected GPU in Virtualization Station

Last modified date: 2022-06-24

Symptom

I am not able to hear audio from Virtualization Station (Win 10) through a PCIe passthrough connected GPU (GeForce GTX 1050TI) via HDMI. A monitor with speakers is connected to the GPU via HDM. Win10 sees the audio controller, but no sounds are played or sound is disrupted. How to get HDMI audio to work through the GPU?

Resolution

Please refer to the link below for modifying Windows Registry to switch GPU from legacy mode to MSI (Message Signaled Interrupts)-mode.
