What can I do if Control Panel doesn't appear on QTS desktop?

There are three possible reasons that Control Panel doesn't appear after logging in to QTS.

  • Control Panel icon was accidentally removed from the QTS desktop.

    1. Click  (Main menu) on the top-left corner and locate Control Panel 
    2. Drag Control Panel into the QTS desktop
  • The log-in user is not a member in administrator group, follow the steps:

    1. Log in to QTS as admin (If you already log in QTS using admin but no Control Panel available, skip to next method)
    2. Go to Control Panel > Privileges > User Group
    3. Click Administrators Group and add log-in user into the group.
  • If you already log in QTS using admin or other administrator account but Control Panel function is still not available in QTS desktop or Main menu, the configuration file could be corrupted. Follow the steps to restore the configuration file.

    1. SSH access the NAS
    2. Run cp /etc/default_config/group /etc/config
    3. Login QTS as admin
    4. Reconfigure User group setting.
