QES 2.0.0 build 20180206

2018-02-12

Important Notes

  • SnapSync jobs created in QES version 1.1.4 or earlier must be configured with a source and destination IP address after updating QES to version 2.0.0 or later. Go to "Backup Station" > "SnapSync", edit a job, and then select a "Source IP Address" and a "Destination IP address". The job will not sync until you have made these changes.

New Features

  • Added SnapSync real-time mode.

Enhancements

  • SnapSync jobs now use a dedicated source and destination IP address.
  • You can use non-English characters in shared folder names, usernames, user passwords and group names.
  • You can add redundant AD domain controllers.
  • QES periodically tries to reconnect to an AD domain if the domain controllers are unavailable.
  • QES prompts you to restart the NAS when you next log in after a firmware update.
  • "Firmware Update" > "Live Update" now uses HTTPS.
  • QES shows progress indicators for high availability take-over and give-back operations.
  • "Storage" Manager > "iSCSI Storage" now displays the number of active iSCSI sessions and the maximum number of iSCSI sessions for each storage controller.
  • Storage pool scrubbing can now be run on a schedule.
  • Users can be forced to log in using SSL and HTTPS.
  • Map_Root map supports the wheel group for NFS.
  • Added a default guest account. This allows users without a NAS username or password to access shared folders.
  • Fast clone can now be enabled/disabled for thin provisioned LUNs and shared folders.
  • Added CPU, DIMM and SSD information to system status.
  • You can specifiy record size when creating a shared folder.
  • You can reduce the quota of an existing thin provisioned shared folder.
  • Schedule snapshots can be taken every 5 minutes.

Other Changes

  • The default IP settings were changed for the storage controller management interfaces on ES1640dc NAS.

Fixed Issues

  • The RAID group button was disabled in Storage Manager after a rolling firmware upgrade.
  • Windows displayed incorrect user and group permissions if you connected to an SMB shared folder and authenticated using LDAP.
