QuWAN Orchestrator 2.2.3.0001 Firmware v2.2.2.0001
2021-12-16
Important Notes
- To configure QuWAN on a QNAP QTS device, download and install QuWAN Agent from QTS App Center.
- To configure QuWAN on VMware ESXi and KVM, purchase the QuWAN vRouter Edition from QNAP Software Store and then download the virtual machine image from QNAP Download Center.
- QHora-301W, QMiro-201W, and QMiroPlus-201W can only support up to 30 VPN tunnels in QuWAN Orchestrator.
- QuWAN Orchestrator does not support map view in the China domain.
- Ensure that you update the firmware of all the QuWAN devices in the organization prior to adding a new QuWAN device. This ensures normal operation of the VPN tunneling protocols on all QuWAN devices.
New Features
-
Added support for private MPLS network: Users can now configure intra- and inter-MPLS connections (China and Global domains) using the private link type in the Port Configuration page. Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) enables you to connect SD-WAN devices in different domains by using labels to route packets instead of using IP addresses. This protocol delivers better bandwidth utilization, and reduces network congestion.
- Internet link: A network link used for connecting to the internet gateway
- Private link: A dedicated MPLS link provided by the service provider
-
- QuWAN vRouter Edition is now supported on Linux KVM: To expand SD-WAN scalability over virtual appliances, you can download and install QuWAN on certain Linux KVM (for Kernel-based Virtual Machine) platforms. Users can now configure QuWAN vRouter Edition using the KVM hypervisor on Ubuntu 20.04 LTS (Focal Fossa) and Ubuntu 18.04 LTS (Bionic Beaver). To download QuWAN vRouter, go to the QNAP Download Center page.
- To understand detailed information about QuWAN operations and usage, we have added more user-related information to recorded events. The Event Logs page now displays the email and IP address of logged-in users.
-
- To understand network connectivity issues in detail, QuWAN Orchestrator now displays the internet, link up, link down, and next hop WAN connection statuses in the Device Info page under System Status.
-
Enhancements
- We have changed the user interface label from "VPN Status" to "Topology Status" in the Overview page to avoid confusion between the QuWAN device site-to-site VPN tunnel status and the VPN server status, and also provide users a complete idea of the organization’s topology status.
-
- We have added a new feature where QuWAN Orchestrator provides troubleshooting suggestions along with the identified VPN connectivity issues in device details in the Dashboard page. If the topology status is disconnected, users can identify and resolve the issue based on the recommended troubleshooting steps. You can also, view the VPN connectivity status in the Overview page for all QuWAN devices.
-
-
- To easily search for applications, users can now view and search application items listed in any DPI category by using expand and search icons in the DPI Application Group page.
- QuWAN Orchestrator supports multiple service ports while configuring port forwarding in the Firewall page. This allows users to add multiple service ports and perform port forwarding on these ports simultaneously.
-
- The System Notification page displays the QuRouter WAN status logs for the following QNAP routers: QHora-301W, QMiro-201W, QMiroPlus-201W
System Requirements
- QuWAN vRouter for QNAP devices (excluding QNAP routers) and QuWAN vRouter Edition for VMware ESXi requires at least 1 GB of memory and one virtual CPU (vCPU).
