Scenario

After you have configured the LDAP authentication settings and joined your NAS to a Windows Active Directory (AD), you cannot see the domain users or groups displayed on the NAS web interface.

Solution

This occurs because QNAP NAS does not support Windows AD as a standard LDAP server for browsing domain users and groups. To see the full list of domain users or groups, you need to use the AD authentication option to join your NAS to a Windows AD.

  1. Log in to your NAS as an administrator.
  2. Open Control Panel.
  3. Go to Privilege > Domain Security.
  4. Select AD authentication (domain members).
  5. Click Quick Configuration Wizard.
  6. Follow the wizard to join your NAS to an AD domain.
