When restoring a virtual machine, from Virtualization Station, the option you choose for the Restoration Method will affect the result UUID.

Overwrite the existing VM:

This option would retain the existing UUID. This option is suitable If you have software that authenticates with UUID.

Create a new VM:

A new UUID will be generated for the new VM created.
