Overview
Failover management in QVR Center ensures that recording files remain available even if a recording server encounters an error. If you have difficulty adding servers to a failover group as standby servers, see the following checklist to understand how to troubleshoot the most common issues.
Solution
- Server status: Check the current status of your server. A server must be successfully added to QVR Center and should be available for QVR Center to retrieve resources.
Icon Status Description Available This server is connected to QVR Center and has normal system health. Warning This server is connected to QVR Center, but it may encounter hardware or other issues, including but not limited to disk errors, system fan errors, or network errors. Unavailable This server is disconnected from QVR Center for various reasons, including but not limited to incorrect network address, incorrect server type, or the server is currently managed by another QVR Center. Please refer to the tooltip of the server status for more details. - Advanced Mode: To manage a server in QVR Center, Advanced Mode must be enabled for the server.NoteA server can only be managed by one QVR Center with Advanced Mode enabled. See What is Advanced Mode in QVR Center? for more information.
- Failover group: A server should only be added to one failover group.
- Recording space: A server must have at least one empty recording space to be added to a failover group.
- Server license: A standby server's license must provide the same number or more channels than that of any recording servers in a failover group.
