Why does Notification Center frequently record a "Failed to connect to the internet" alert?

Root Cause

If your internet connection is unstable or is disconnected, the system will record a Failed to connect to the internet alert in Notification Center.


Solution

To stop the system from recording this alert, you can disable the Network Connectivity Status Indicator (NCSI) setting in Network & Virtual Switch.

  1. Log in to the NAS as an administrator.
  2. Open Network & Virtual Switch.
  3. Go to Network > Interfaces.
  4. Click System Default Gateway.
    The System Default Gateway window appears.
  5. Select Disable the NCSI (Network Connectivity Status Indicator) service.
  6. Click Apply.
