Why is the deduplication option disabled / greyed out?

Scenarios:

The data deduplication option is disabled / greyed out when I create a shared folder or an iSCSI lun. Why?

Solution:

In order to enable the deduplication option, you could select the VDI or Customized option in Performance profile.
