InfoWorld’s Paul Venezia calls the QNAP TS-EC1279U-RP Turbo NAS server “The best of the bunch so far”
Taipei, Taiwan, March 14, 2012 - QNAP® Systems, Inc. today announced a very positive review of QNAP’s top-shelf Turbo NAS TS-EC1279U-RP by highly respected InfoWorld in the US, the premier information source for IT professionals. Reviewer Paul Venezia says: “I've seen a number of QNAP NAS arrays over the years, and the TS-EC1279U-RP is the best of the bunch so far.” InfoWorld awarded the TS-EC1279U-RP with an overall rating score of 9.2 “Excellent”.
The TS-EC1279U-RP is QNAP’s highest-end Turbo NAS server, featuring a 12-drive 2U rack-mount footprint with 48TB (using 4TB drives) maximum capacity, quad-core Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1225 (3.1 GHz), 4GB DDR3 ECC RAM, optional 10GbE networking, redundant power supply, and 2X expansion slots for storage expansion and network expansion.

QNAP recently released its new V3.6 NAS management software. New V3.6 provides additional business-ready features including VPN server support, LDAP server support, Proxy server, and enhancements to MyCloud NAS service and also backup enhancements. Most QNAP Turbo NAS models can run V3.6 firmware and it’s a free download from QNAP.com
