Why did the user not get permission to access the NFS share folder after upgrading from QTS 4.5.x to QTS 5.x?

  • QTS 5.x

QTS 5 upgrades the security for NFS access permissions and decouples the shared folder permissions between NFS and Samba. Therefore, some shared folders mount in Windows and Linux, but can’t get access permission after upgrading to QTS 5. To set access permissions, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to the NAS as an administrator.

  2. Go to Control Panel > Privilege > Shared Folders > Shared Folder.

  3. Select a shared folder.

  4. Under Action, click Edit Share Folder Permission.

      2. Allocate permissions.
      3. Select Squash all users under Squash Options
      4. Modify Anonymous UID account or Anonymous GID group
