Why can't Qsync Client or Qsync Pro connect to the NAS after a Qsync Central update?

Last modified date: 2025-02-21

Applicable Products

  • Qsync Central 4.4.0.7 or later (QTS 5.0.x)
  • Qsync Central 4.3.0.10 (QTS 4.5.x)

Scenario

After updating Qsync Central to version 4.4.0.7 (QTS 5.0) or 4.3.0.10 (QTS 4.5), Qsync Client or Qsync Pro stops connecting to your NAS.

Solution

Qsync Central has received security enhancements that make it incompatible with earlier versions of Qsync Client and Qsync Pro, causing NAS connection issues. To restore connectivity, please update your Qsync Client or Qsync Pro to the required versions listed below:

  • Qsync Pro:
    • iOS: 1.3.3 or later
    • Android: 1.4.12 or later
  • Qsync Client:
    • Mac: 5.0.3 or later
    • Ubuntu: 1.0.7 or later
    • Windows: 5.0.4 or later

Note
If you don't receive a software update prompt, go to QNAP Utilities and manually download Qsync. If you see a "Windows version is not supported" message, simply click OK to proceed with the installation.
