QNAP Launches All-New QVR Surveillance Platform: Supports up to 1024 Channels for a High-Performance Cloud and AI Surveillance Experience
Existing QVR Elite users can upgrade and enjoy 6 free channels, while new users can easily start their secure surveillance journey.

This all-new solution delivers higher performance, greater reliability, and advanced AI analytics, while integrating with the dedicated myQNAPcloud Surveillance storage service. It empowers organizations to easily deploy and manage surveillance environments — from small-scale setups to deployments with over a thousand channels — enabling a flexible, secure, and intelligent video surveillance experience.
Key Highlights of QVR Surveillance
- Up to 1024 Channels: A single NAS can support up to 1024 cameras, leveraging file-based recording technology for enhanced performance and scalability, with QVR Client available for remote monitoring.
- License-Free AI Analytics: Features intelligent event search, facial recognition, and people counting for smart surveillance insights.
- License-Free Centralized Management: Centrally manage multiple NAS and multi-site camera streams for easy deployment and maintenance.
- myQNAPcloud Surveillance Storage: Provides dedicated cloud backup for surveillance footage to meet data retention compliance and ensure reliable video archiving. (Currently supported only on QVR Surveillance; incompatible with QVR Elite/QVR Pro.)
- Compatible with 8,000+ Cameras: Supports over 200 camera brands and the ONVIF® standard.
- Recording Protection Mechanism: Prevents file corruption during abnormal events to preserve crucial footage.
- Supports QVR Recording Vault for Active Backup: Works with a video backup server for offsite, long-term archiving to meet compliance requirements.

QVR Surveillance offers flexible subscription and perpetual license options. To celebrate its official release, QNAP is launching an exclusive in-app upgrade campaign:
• For New Users: Comes with 2 built-in channels, plus 6 additional free channels after completing in-app registration.
• For Existing Users: QVR Elite users can upgrade directly to QVR Surveillance — existing channels and subscription terms are retained, with 6 extra free channels available upon registration. QVR Pro users can transfer their licenses to QVR Surveillance while keeping their subscription benefits.
