QNAP has determined that a very small number of 3.5-inch plastic drive trays for the QNAP TVS-x82 and TVS-x82T NAS series may unexpectedly fracture after prolonged exposure to high temperatures and/or long-term use. This is not a safety issue and only affects NAS models within a limited serial number range.
Please use the serial number checker below to check if your 3.5-inch plastic drive trays are eligible for replacement. QNAP will provide affected users with redesigned and improved 3.5-inch plastic drive trays. This replacement is free of charge.
How to find your QNAP NAS Serial Number
QNAP NAS serial numbers consists of 10 digits - a combination of letters and numbers. Every serial number starts with the letter “Q”. You can use the following methods to find the serial number of your QNAP NAS:
- Check the product label. This shows basic product information including the serial number. The position of the label may vary according to the NAS model, but is normally on the bottom.
- Check the original packaging of the QNAP NAS. The product label on the side will display the serial number.
- Log in to QTS and check the “Control Panel” for the Serial number.
