Overview
If the NAS was updating its firmware and a power failure or network disconnection occurred, the device may have been powered off or the firmware update progress may have been halted. The NAS may or may not fail to boot up after this point and may need to be recovered. This tutorial explains how to recover the NAS after an interrupted firmware update.
Scenarios
If the NAS is still powered on, manually power off the NAS and power it back on. After the NAS has been powered on, two scenarios are possible: the device boots up, or the device does not boot up. See below for solutions:
The NAS can boot up
If you are able to boot up the NAS, then a manual firmware update is necessary to recover the NAS. For details, see Manually updating the firmware.
The NAS cannot boot up
If the NAS cannot be booted up, follow the instructions in this tutorial: What to do if my NAS can't boot up after firmware update?
