Why is the source and destination folder size of the HBS job sometimes mismatched?

The mismatch can happen due to some files being filtered in the job, or there are some hidden files or skipped files not transferred. The Filter setting is in Rules > Methods.

If you have the QuDedup option enabled under Rules > Methods, this would also reduce the size of your backup significantly compared to your source folder.

Also check the option of “Remove deleted data from the destination” under Rules > Policies. This would also cause differences in size between source and destination.
