How do I reset a QSW-M switch?

Overview

If you configured your switch incorrectly and you are unable to access the QSS interface to reset the device, you can perform a hard reset to either reset the password or restore the switch to its default settings.

Answer

Locate the reset button on the switch.
Perform one of the following reset operations.

Operation	User Action	Result
Basic system reset	Press and hold the button for 5 seconds.	The following settings are reset to default: System administrator password: The default password is the first MAC address in uppercase letters without special characters. For example, if the first MAC address is 00-08-9BF6-15-75, then the admin password would be 00089BF61575. Note You can find the first MAC address with Qfinder Pro or attached to a label on the device listed as MAC1. The admin account is automatically enabled.
Advanced system reset	Press and hold the button for 10 seconds.	The default factory settings are restored.
