Details

When Finder uses the guest account to connect to a QNAP NAS, the NAS does not ask for login credentials.

The NAS may also deny access to the guest account based on shared folder permission settings.

Use one of the following workarounds to address this issue.

Use Finder

In Finder, enter a username before the NAS IP address. For example: smb://admin:@192.168.1.217

Use Qfinder Pro

  1. Open Qfinder Pro.
  2. Select the NAS you want to access, and click Network Drives.
  3. Enter the username and password and select SMB/CIFS as the network protocol.
