Overview

Container Station lets you install and centrally manage containers on your QNAP device. Below are the most frequently-asked questions by users of Container Station.

How do I use Container Station 3?

Containers are a lightweight way to simulate a variety of operating systems and application services. Integrated with the Docker Hub Registry and LXD Image Server, Container Station helps you easily download ready-to-use images and increase the functionality of your QNAP device. For details on how to use Container Station 3, see the tutorial.

Why are my containers not displaying the container URL link after updating to Container Station 3?

When updating Container Station to version 3, containers with uncommon web ports are unable to create URL links during the migration process. Therefore, you are unable to see the URL link icon. To view the URL link, follow the below steps:

    Note

    • The default web URL port is only used for the first connected network in the list.
  8. Click Apply.

  2. Go to Containers.
  3. Select a running container.
  4. Click Attach Terminal.
    Note
You must enable the interactive (-i) and TTY (-t) processes to attach the terminal to a container.
Why am I unable to see or receive logs and notification events generated in earlier versions of Container Station on Container Station 3?

System logs generated in earlier versions of Container Station 3 are archived and exported during data migration, and event notification rules from earlier versions have been reset.

  • To access logs from earlier versions, go to the Container Station folder on your QNAP device, and locate the container-station-earlier-logs.csv file. By default, the path should be like /Container/container-station-earlier-logs.csv.
