Due to the local copyright regulations, some ISPs (Internet Service Providers) block the access to The Pirate Bay. In this case, the “BT search” in Download Station is unable to get any search result. You may follow the steps below to check if ThePirateBay is blocked by local ISP:

  1. SSH access to the NAS

  2. Use the following command to generate a bt.html file in Public folder.

    curl -vkl 'https://pirateproxy.live' -o /share/Public/bt.html

  3. Log in to QTS as an administrator.

  4. Open File Station and download the bt.html file to your PC.

  5. Open bt.html using web browser.

    • If the ThePirateBay homepage appears (you may need to refresh the page again or view the html source code if the homepage shows blank), this means the Download station can reach ThePirateBay web site. If the BT search doesn't return result in this case, please contact QNAP support for further assessing.
    • If you see a message similar to the following one, the ISP may block the connection, please contact the local ISP for the solution.
"ACCESS TO THIS WEBSITE HAS BEEN DISABLED BECAUSE THE FEDERAL COURT OF AUSTRALIA HAS DETERMINED THAT IT INFRINGES OR FACILITATES THE INFRINGEMENT OF COPYRIGHT."
