After I enabled advanced folder permissions on a shared folder in QTS, why can’t I open files in the folder that were created remotely via Samba or AFP, if I access the files via NFS?

When you enable advanced folder permissions on a shared folder, if you create or save files in the shared folder via protocols such as Samba or AFP, the system will use a POSIX ACL for determining user permissions.

Because QNAP NFS in QTS 4.5.x and earlier does not support POSIX ACLs, if you access those files via NFS, you are treated as an unauthorized user and therefore cannot perform any operations on those files.

The workaround is to upgrade the QTS version to QTS 5.0.x or later and reconfigure the ACL permission.
