Why does my QNAP OS detect a different USB specification from the QNAP documentation, and why can’t my USB connection achieve the maximum performance of USB 3.2 Gen 2 indicated in the OS?

To ensure product quality, we advertise the minimum technical specifications we can guarantee to our customers. Due to various factors including third-party supply, sometimes we are able to use upgraded hardware parts in the production of your NAS. For this reason, your NAS operating system may detect that USB 3.2 Gen 2 is actually installed, even though our documentation lists USB 3.2 Gen 1, for example.
Your actual USB performance depends on many factors, including the NAS CPU, hardware design, resource utilization, and the number of USB devices connected. Although the performance may not always reach its maximum, if the specification indicated in the OS is different from our documentation, it is most likely to be an upgrade from what we advertise.
