Why can’t I mount ISO files from the Turbo NAS to Windows OS via Microsoft Network Services?

If an error message “Couldn’t mount file” is shown when you try to mount an ISO file from the Turbo NAS to Windows via Microsoft Network Services, please follow the steps below to change the SMB version.

Turbo NAS version: QTS 4.0.5

  1. Login the Turbo NAS and go to “Control Panel” > “Network Services” > “Win/Mac/NFS” > “Microsoft Networking” > “Advanced Options”.
  2. Disable the option “Enable SMB 2”.
  3. Click “Apply”.

Turbo NAS version: QTS 4.1 or above

  1. Login the Turbo NAS and go to “Control Panel” > “Network Services” > “Win/Mac/NFS” > “Microsoft Networking” > “Advanced Options”.
  2. Select “SMB 2.0” from the Highest SMB version drop-down menu.
  3. Click “Apply”.
