With File Cloud Gateway, you can adjust the size of the local read cache, write cache and reserved cache to ensure cache efficiency. These can be configured when creating a File Cloud Gateway or in Mount Management > Cache Space > Advanced Cache Settings.

The write cache is used when writing data to the local cache, and read cache space is used after uploading files to the cloud. All data in the read cache is synced with the cloud. When the cache space is full and more space is needed, the system will remove the least recently accessed file in the read cache and only keep its metadata to write new files. If you frequently edit write cache files locally, you should allocate more space to the write cache. If you do not need that much write cache, you can increase the read cache space to raise the cache hit rate.

When you check the free space from a network drive mount to the File Cloud Gateway shared folder, the disk capacity will be the configured Maximum write cache.

Additionally, you can apply the Always keep in reserved cache setting to frequently used folders to pre-download data and always keep it in the cache so it can be accessed faster. Files with the Always keep in reserved cache setting will not be removed when the cache space is full.
