HBS RTRR backup job start but not able to complete backup and stuck up
Applied Models:
• All NAS Series
Applied Firmware:
• 4.4.1 or above
Applied HBS:
• HBS version 14.0 or above
If the backup job is running for a long time period, not able to complete and need to stop manually, you could verify the following settings.

1. Verify the remote NAS is able to connect.
-
Go to HBS > Storage Spaces > Remote NAS
-
Select the Remote NAS and click the Edit icon

-
Click the Detect Server
to check if RTRR communication is OK.-
If with error, check the RTRR settings of the Remote NAS
-
Enable the RTRR if needed and update the RTRR credential in the remote NAS
-
Also update the NAS HBS > Storage Spaces > Remote NAS RTRR settings credentials
-
-
If able to communicate, check the Speed Test
to verify the RTRR credential
2. Check if the NAS has 2 or more network connections, and verify if the connections are in the same network subnet.
-
In the HBS, select the backup job and click edit
. -
Select the “Rules”
tab, then under the Rules page, select “Network”

By default, this option is set to “Automatic”, in which the backup job traffic will route into the least busy network (Network adapter not set as System Default Gateway) in the Network & Virtual Switch > Network > Interfaces. If the second connection is not added in the allowed connections (as described in step 3 below), the job would not complete.
-
Select the Default Route Option and Save the changes of the backup job.
-
Run the Backup and confirm
If the Backup completed without a problem; check the remote NAS HBS settings.
3. Check the Remote NAS > HBS > Services > RTRR Server
-
In the Settings, check if the Rate limit settings is set, if yes, please change to “Unlimited” both Upload and Download.
-
Also please check the Network Access Approval if set into Allow all connections.
If Set to “Allow approved connections”, please add the whole NAS network subnet or the NAS secondary network IP address
-
If the destination NAS RTRR Server Settings is set, you can return the Network settings in the HBS Backup Job into Automatic and run the backup again.
