Briefly describe the features of the ES NAS snapshots. Will services be interrupted during recovery?
To ensure the consistency of data captured during snapshot operations, QNAP provides a Windows application called "Snapshot Agent". A link can be established using this application together with VMware vCenter or the Windows local VSS Service. When snapshots are taken, their consistency can be ensured by selecting the “Application consistent” option.
if the snapshot was taken by the ES NAS, the operating applications will be notified via Snapshot Agent. This way, an application-consistent snapshot can be created.
As ZFS uses the Redirect on Write snapshot mechanism, there is no additional load on the ES NAS when snapshots are taken. Up to 65,535 snapshots can be taken for iSCSI LUN/shared folders.
After the system restores a snapshot, you only need to refresh the server host or perform a rescan to update the data. During this time, services are not interrupted and there will not be a disconnection.
