What folder and file structure is used for storing QVR Elite recordings?
Applicable Products:
- QVR Elite
This article explains the folder structure of QVR Elite's recording spaces. QVR Elite can use a specific share folder as the recording space location when creating a recording space. After you have created the recording space, you can see the path of the recording space in the settings:

The recording space folder can be opened using File Station:

The following explains the functions of each layer of folders:
- RecSpace_82812055E538418283A97A186931D064 : The recording space folder. Every recording space has its own folder.
- CH001_A2155F240349A2155F240349A2150000 : The channel folder. Every channel has its own folder.
- Regular, Event : There are two sub-folders under channel folders: "Regular" and "Event". "Regular" stores regular recordings and "Event" stores event recordings.
- 2021-09-03 : The date of the recording (uses UTC time using the YYYY-MM-DD format)
- 12 : The hour of the recording (uses UTC time).
- 20210903_205500-210000_1630673700605_S1.mp4 : The recording file (uses local time).
The following is an example folder structure:
/{Share_Folder_Name}/RecSpace_{UUID}/CH{Channel_Number}_{UUID}/Regular||Event/{UTC_Date}/{UTC_Hour}/
The following is an example of the recording file name structure:
{Local_Date}_{Local_Start_Time}-{Local_End_Time}_{Unix_Start_Time}_{Stream_Sequence}.mp4
As the folder names use UTC time, changing the NAS time zone only affects the name of the recording file.
