Will the original passive node work after I remove an HA cluster?
Applicable Products
- QuTS hero h5.3.0 or later
- High Availability Manager 1.1 or later
Explanation
After removing a high-availability (HA) cluster, both NAS devices will return to standalone mode. Because services in an HA cluster are managed and provided by the active node, after removing the cluster you must adjust certain settings on the original passive node to avoid configuration conflicts with the original active node and ensure normal service operations.
Recommendation
If you want to continue using the original passive node after removing an HA cluster, please review the following services on the NAS and adjust the relevant settings as needed:
- Security Center
- Go to Security Center > Security Checkup. If "Scan schedule" shows "Unavailable", reconfigure the scan schedule.
- iSCSI & Fibre Channel
- Modify all of the following to avoid conflicts with the original active node:
- iSCSI target IQNs
- iSCSI target network portal bindings
- All CHAP passwords
